SUCCESS AT AYRSHIRE ATHLETICS (3 June 2009)
Marr College pupils had another very satisfying & successful day at Dam Park on 3rd June. In total they won 14 Bronze, 15 Silver & 25 Gold medals.
Even by recent standards this is a credit to their enthusiasm, determination & skills. The winning of medals is deserves credit but these figures hide some very fine team & individual performances that deserve mention.
Laura Meader’s & Cameron Barker’s winning runs in the 1500m when they both led from start to finish.
Lewis Anderson’s win in the 100m which he won by dipping at the finish line.
Daniel Clark’s determination to hold of a strong challenge in the last 50m of the 800m to win Gold.
The S3 girls relay team, all 4 of whom ran really well. Lauren Gott, Rachel Whittle, Claire Hastings & Claire Minto.
The S2 Girls relay team who did exactly the same. Nicola Boyd, Kendal Ross, Briony Johnstone & Amber McCue.
Kayleigh Winter’s throws to win the Javelin. How she smiled!
The stylish & fast running of Murray Beckwith, Scott Jones, Gregor Scott, Sam Revie, Rachel Whittle & Kendal Ross, all of whom took Gold medals in individual & relay events.
Kyle Davies’ run in the 400m…… despite having to almost stop when another runner wandered into his lane, Kyle overtook him & crossed the line in an Ayrshire Schools record time.
All 45 MARR COLLEGE pupils who took part in the Finals deserve credit for an enjoyable day’s work in the sunshine.
