At the start of March we celebrated World Book Day here at Marr. In the lead up to the big day students in S1 and S2 were using their library time to be creative.
S1 pupils had to write a short short story, in fact a story so short that it could be tweeted in one tweet! This was no mean feat for our keen writers. All the stories were then tweeted by the school librarian and can be found on the twitter feed @marrlibrary
S2 pupils were given a different challenge. They were asked to create a story plan using a new method. Working in groups they were given a story plan sheet and asked to plot a story from beginning to end with one main event as the climax to the story. Their story could be set anywhere and at anytime however Miss Owens has one stipulation: The characters had to already exist in other stories. Pupils had lots of fun with this.
All pupils were given their World Book day tokens which can still be exchanged up until the 31st March.
