68 senior pupils are taking part in this year’s Living On One Week. Around the world over one billion people are living on less than £1 a day while in the UK 1/3 of people will have experienced poverty in 2016. Throughout the week the pupils taking part will experience the daily challenges poverty brings at home and abroad. They will learn important life skills in planning and preparing their meals all week, will experience the comradery of overcoming challenges together and by stepping outside their comfort-zone and challenging themselves show they are capable of extraordinary things. We are well into December now and our supported study programme has been running for a few weeks. If you are still wondering what is on offer you can download the full timetable here.
All parents will have received at least one letter home this week. Copies of all December mailing can be found on our Letters to Parents page.
We are also conducting a curriculum consultation with a focus on students subject choice in S2 for S3 study. We would appreciate that parents read over the letter and also have a look at the presentation given to all S2 pupils over the last week. All feedback should be handed in to our school office.
On behalf of Duncan Beckwith, Chair, I would like to invite you to the next meeting of the Parent Council.
The format is a bit different this month starting with a Tour of the New Building at 6pm for Parent Council members. Please gather in the Library at 5.45pm.
After the Tour we will return to the library at 6.30pm to have the normal Parent Council meeting and we hope to be finished by 8pm given the early start.
Anyone not attending the tour should meet us in the library at 6.30pm (don't eat all the mince pies!).
All documentation can be found on the Parent Council Page inlcuding: Agenda, draft minutes of November's AGM and Meeting, together with a copy of the Head Teacher's report.
Secretary Parent Council.
