Our pre-lim diet continued today with N5 maths taking place. Over the next few weeks parents and carers will be facing a situation they have never faced before as our senior pupils gear up for these exams. In order to support them at home, staff at Marr College have created the following presentation, which is full of practical advice and help for our parents/carers on how to support and encourage all our young people at home. Everyone at Marr wishes all our senior pupils the best of luck over the coming weeks.
Skills Development Scotland national webinar for parents and carers on the options and support available for school leavers
As part of Scottish Careers Week, Skills Development Scotland (SDS) has a nationwide online session for parents and carers covering options and support available for school leavers on Wednesday 17 November at 6.30pm. Parents and carers can find out more about the range of options available for their young person as they prepare to leave school and how parents and carers can support them. SDS Careers Advisers will be providing expert advice and there will be opportunities for parents and carers to ask questions during the session. Help is also available on SDS’s online home for career information and advice My World of Work. Please register for the event here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/school-leaver-options-tickets-195981003457 Find out more about Scottish Careers Week. Please see below an invitation from our Parent Council to attend the annual AGM and monthly meeting.
On the 6th October we will have the Parent Council AGM and monthly meeting. We eagerly wish to recruit some new faces to bring fresh ideas and perspectives along to our meetings. You can find the agenda here. In particular we need new committee members. Our chairperson is stepping down as her children finish their school journey, and we have not had a vice chair this year to step up. Please read what the committee roles entail, and we encourage you to consider joining us and putting yourself forward for a role. Anyone is welcome even if you do not know much about the school or parent council, we will support you all the way. And your fresh ideas (and faces) will be made very welcome. We would also welcome a volunteer to assist with the communication on social media, if anyone would like to offer their services ! |
