CORRIDOR CODE OF CONDUCT
There are over 1200 pupils and staff using the corridors in the school. This Code of Conduct is written to make sure that the corridors of our school are safe for everyone.
We expect and encourage you to:
- Move quietly and calmly at all times and treat all other pupils and staff with consideration and respect. Running in busy corridors can cause serious accidents and injury to others. Don’t take that risk.
- Help avoid the dangers of congestion. Slow down when the corridors are busy and never push or shove.
- Follow the one-way system at all times when the whole school is on the move. It is designed to keep everyone safe.
In the main building the only one-way corridor is the Music corridor where the traffic flows from the Maths end towards the Physics end of the corridor, denoted by blue arrows on the wall. There are also rules regarding exiting the Business Studies department, staff there will explain to pupils.
In the extension building the one-way system is clearly marked by blue arrows on the wall and by ‘no-entry’ signs where appropriate. In the link corridor traffic flows from the main building towards the extension building. - Keep to the left where there is two-way traffic in a corridor or stairway to avoid congestion.
- Be very quiet in corridors during lessons and have consideration for the pupils and teachers in classrooms who are trying to work.
- Remember the school is a place of work. Do not eat or drink in the school corridors.
- Take pride in Marr College and its environment. Keep it litter free and encourage others to use dustbins.
- Treat school property with respect. It belongs to all of us.
