Wider Achievement

There are many clubs and groups that students can get involved in whilst at Marr College. Becoming involved in the wider life of the school is very beneficial and participating in a club that suits you is not only enjoyable but can add depth and value to your CV, and stand you in good stead as you progress to university and beyond. 

PE Department

The PE Department offers an extensive extra curricular programme. This is open to all pupils who wish to represent Marr College or just develop their skills in a particular activity.

John Muir Award

Our first group of S4 Biology students took part in a John Muir Discovery Award in 2015.   A Discovery Award is a 20 hour commitment to discovering and exploring a wild place, helping to conserve it, then sharing the experience.  As a class, they visited Troon beach and Fullerton woods, and took part in a range of activities such as surveys, a litter pick and planting bulbs. 

This proved so successful that it is now included in our curriculum. 

Dynamic Youth Awards

All S2 students are working towards a Dynamic Youth Award through their PSE classes.  Dynamic Youth Awards are designed for 10-14 year olds, and allow children to choose a challenge, work as part of a team, develop their skills and help others.  In May 2015 students organised the intergenerational tea in school.  Full details of this event, including pictures, can be found in the newsdesk.
