WHY STUDY TRAVEL AND TOURISM?
The National 4 and 5 Skills for Work: Travel and Tourism Course is an introductory qualification in travel and tourism. It develops the skills, knowledge and attitudes, needed for work in the travel and tourism industry. We will aim to provide links to employers in this course and offer career links and work experience as part of this course
Learners will develop:
At SCQF level 5, the candidate will work alone or with others on tasks with minimum support. There is no final exam at either National 4 or National 5 level for this course.
National 4 and National 5 Travel and Tourism consists of 4 units:
1. Employability (including work placement)
2. Scotland Unit
3. UK and Worldwide Unit
4. Customer Service

- skills to deal effectively with all aspects of customer care and customer service in travel and tourism
- the product knowledge and skills to deal effectively with customer enquiries in relation to travel and tourism in Scotland, the rest of the United Kingdom and worldwide

Barista training
Students will be given the opportunity to take part in our Barista skills course, this course allows students the opportunity to gain a City and Guilds unit qualification in one of the following areas - ‘Non-alcoholic Beverages’, ‘Customer Service Skills’ or ‘Introduction to Events’.
During Barista skills classes students gain experience working in a modern barista environment – using high quality resources and professional barista equipment to create the full range of beverages you would expect to find in any well-known coffee house. Students also use the barista area, known as the ‘Creation Station’, to practice their customer service provision, dealing with a variety of customer service situations including serving students, teachers, school visitors and many other stakeholders from the local community.
