Higher Human Biology
The Higher Biology course is made up of two full Units and two half Units:
1. Human Cells 2. Physiology & Health
3. Neurobiology & Communication 4. Immunology & Public Health
Each unit is assessed by a Unit assessment. These are assessed on a pass/fail basis, with students needing to achieve at least 50% to pass. Also within the Unit assessments are problem solving areas which again, students must pass. These are predicting, selecting, processing and analysing.
Students carry out a practical investigation which they must complete successfully as part of the internally assessed coursework.
Higher Human Biology has an externally assessed exam worth 100 marks (83% of the final grade) as well as an Assignment to complete, worth 20 marks (17% of the final grade).
