Nat 4/5 Biology
The National 4 and 5 Biology courses are made up of three Units:
1.Cell Biology 2. Multicellular Organisms 3. Life On Earth
Each unit is assessed by a Unit assessment. These are assessed on a pass/fail basis, with students needing to achieve at least 50% to pass. Also within the Unit assessments contain a mixture of knowledge and understanding and problem solving questions.
Students carry out a practical investigation and a mini research task which they must complete successfully as part of the internally assessed course work.
National 4 Biology is internally assessed. National 5 Biology has an externally assessed exam as well as an Assignment to complete. National 4 Biology students complete and Added Value Unit instead of an Assignment.
