This purpose of this course is to support pupils who are looking for a creative out let within the context of art and design.
NPA Art & Design Level 5 S4, 5 & 6 Option
National Progression Award in Art and Design provides opportunities for integrated and project-based learning which allows you to progressively build and develop key skills in creative areas, see links between specialisms and promote working practices which are akin to and aligned with contemporary art practice.
Mixed Media
This unit will allow you to develop skills in using mixed media techniques to develop design ideas. You will investigate mixed media materials and tools, apply mark-making techniques, apply manipulation techniques and present your design ideas in mixed media.
Printmaking
In this unit you will develop knowledge and understanding of printmaking skills for art and design applications. This will include experimentation with the creative potential of different methods of printmaking developing awareness of visual and compositional elements. You will produce a folio of experimental prints and refined finished prints.
Illustration
In this unit you will develop the skills and techniques to investigate and develop your knowledge of illustrative techniques and media handling skills. You will produce research and investigative work before developing ideas and presenting a finished illustration that meets the requirements of a given brief.
