About Us

Young Enterprise Scotland's well-known Company Programme is the ultimate business and enterprise experience for S5/S6 pupils in schools across Scotland. The pupils set-up and run their own company through the academic year with support from local business volunteers and Young Enterprise Scotland staff. They develop a wide range of skills and receive an invaluable entrepreneurial experience. At the end of the academic year, the young companies compete on a local, regional, national and European level to be crowned Company of the Year.

The Team 2018-2019
Essence of Troon

The 2018-19 Young Enterprise group, Essence of Troon, comprises of Mark H (Managing Director), Rosie W (Human Resource Manager), Gregor B (Sales Director), Lucy W (Administrative Director), Alastair S (Communications Officer), Louise F (Creative Director), Calum S (Finance Director), Emma C (Operational Director), Katie Y (Marketing Director) and our Link Teacher Mrs Thomson with our Business Advisor Stephen McNab from GE Caledonian.

After deliberating and discussing what we could manufacture and sell, we decided to market a range of scented goods such as candles, wax melts, reed diffusers, burners and room sprays. Our products are made from bee friendly soy wax and we used paper bags instead of plastic ones as they are biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
 
Throughout the year, all members of the Young Enterprise group have worked extremely hard to develop a successful business. We promoted ourselves using various social media platforms covering the local community.
 
The Young Enterprise experience has given the full group a sixth year to remember, the friendships and bonds created will last a lifetime.
