SQA exam timetable - School Specific

You can view the exam timetable, including room locations within school here. Remember to arrive at least 10 minutes before your exam and note the following rules about taking items into the exam hall, from SQA:

You're not allowed:

electronic devices including mobile phones, MP3 players, tablets and smartwatches, or any other device that is web-enabled or stores information
calculator or dictionary - except in specified subjects and should meet SQA regulations
calculator cases or pencil cases
books, notes, sketches, paper of any kind

If you want to use your own dictionary for any Modern Languages exam, make sure you get it checked first: your teacher or lecturer will be able to tell you how.

SQA Exams - important dates and information

Today was the last formal school day for our S6 cohort and we used the lovely spring sunshine to host a farewell presentation for them this morning. Our attention now turns to the important task of SQA exams.

If you are not sitting any SQA examination paper then you MUST attend school and classes as normal.
For pupils who are sitting SQA exams, study leave runs from Monday 30th April until Friday 1st June (Inclusive)
Pupils who are currently in S4 and S5 will return to school on Monday 4th June ready for induction into S5 and S6 respectively.
Good Luck to all our young people over the next few weeks and all the best for those leaving us this year.

Dyslexia Friendly Schools - Parent opportunity

Reviewing our inclusive practice across the curriculum will have a positive impact on outcomes for all of our young people. This session we embarked on our journey towards achieving accreditation at Bronze Level as a Dyslexia Friendly School. A staff working group has been identified and will meet this month to discuss how we take things forward at Marr. This will include creation of an action plan, formation of pupil/parent groups and an updated Dyslexia policy. With this in mind we are looking for interested parents to form our parent working group or to provide your name for a list of ‘Dyslexic Role Models’. GeoBus Visit

GeoBus recently held a Renewable Energy event for S2 pupils to challenge them to think about how to develop an efficient and cost effective wind farm. Pupils were placed in groups and had to justify the design of their wind turbine, the location of a wind farm, then calculate the projected profits. Pupils then had the opportunity to create their own turbine blade based on their earlier design.

The event was a great success and students created their own wind turbine blades. The blades have been tested for durability. GeoBus have filmed the students wind turbine blades in action and will send video clips to the school for classes to watch.
