Click here to view the headteachers summer letter. We have an exciting afternoon coming up this Wednesday. The school has invited a wide range of different organisations from the local area into the school to work with our students. This will give everyone involved the opportunity to learn new skills from experts who they would not usually be able to work with within an everyday classroom situation.
When/What will happen? Our business/community partners will visit the school on Wednesday 17th June and will deliver workshops to the entire S4 year group. Each student has been given the option to choose which workshop they would like to attend. Click here to view the full programme. Recently our S4 Business Management pupils won £400 in the Sir Tom Hunter Challenge. Full details can be read here. Today Mrs McGregor-Sloman recieved the prize and a lovely letter from the man himself.

On the 28th May 5 Business Management pupils, in S4, took part in the Sir Tom Hunter Challenge. The group came up with a fitness brand encompassing an app and scales to measure your weight loss/muscle gain and a system where you will be rewarded with vouchers for high street shops to encourage you to stick with training. The presentation was excellent and the pupils were a real asset to the school. Pupils involved included: Gigha Anderson, Erin Barbour, Luisaidh Ligertwood, Scott Rennix and Scott McGregor. Huge congratulations to all pupils as it was a daunting task presenting in front of peers and high profile judges including Sir Tom Hunter himself, although Gigha wasn't all that phased and even asked Tom if he would mind taking a selfie of himself and the girls! The other schools in South Ayrshire were also excellent and the winning team came from Girvan Academy
A huge thank you for those of you that supported the pupils in their preparation for the event. Although they did not win they have been rewarded with £400 and Tom is going to arrange for all those that took part to visit the Hatchery to meet some new business start ups at the start of the new term. It was an excellent night and we look forward to the next one. The Business Education Team |
