We were delighted to host our annual chess tournament, in partnership with Troon Chess Club in our new Learning Plaza on 13th June.
Troon Chess club provided the handsome trophy that was won last year by Calum Brown (new 4F) - Calum was in to defend his title, but there was a good turnout of players desperate to take the title from him!
After some hard-fought battles, it was Calum who successfully retained his title - although there were a few scares and very close calls on the way to the final!
Thank you to Troon Chess Club for organising and running what has become a very successful and fun annual event.
Chess Club takes place every Friday lunchtime in Science lab 118. Everyone is welcome from S1-S6, whether you have played chess before or not!
