We are very proud of our rising football star, Innes Cameron (S5). The 16 year old striker has been playing youth football with Kilmarnock under 17’s and at the start of December 2016 he got the call every young footballer dreams of: Kille gaffer, Lee Clark, asked him to step up and train with the Kilmarnock FC first team.
He was then chosen to be a part of the first team squad, as a substitute, throughout December 2016. He was a substitute for games against Dundee, Aberdeen, Hearts and Patrick Thistle, and then during the game against St Johnstone he got his first big break. It was during a substitute change in the 70th minute of the premiership game, that he was told to leave the bench and get on the field. He partnered former internationalist Kris Boyd up front against St Johnstone at Killie’s home ground Rugby Park. What an achievement! When asked how it felt he said “It was a surreal and amazing experience”. Well done again Innes. We are all very proud of you here at Marr.
