S1 pupils recently had the opportunity to experience the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in a practical way. A visit from the Small Peice Trust had the pupils battling it out on the racetrack as Joshua, S1, explains:
"Today we took part in a STEM kinetic energy challenge. We were learning a lot about energy and the world of STEM. The challenge was to wire and assemble a car that would go to a certain distance, decided by the teacehr. We worked in teams, drew a graph and estimated a good voltage to charge our car so it would stop at the right distance. i really enjoyed it and so did all the pupils working together. I would definetly recommend this workshop to anyone interested in STEM becuase I thought it was the best!"
It was a great workshop and pupils certainly enjoyed as calls of That was fun! and I loved that! could be heard as they left the library.
