Several of our students from S3-S6 are competing in the Student Investor Challenge again this year. After our success last year with one group reaching the semi-finals the race is on to see who will top the leader board!
We have a Marr record 18 teams entered so far who are up against over 6,000 other competing teams from all around the globe. Marr also has a team of teachers competing - who at the moment are at the top of the Marr leader board - much to the upset of our students! The teachers are currently ranked 132nd out of 6,268 groups. Students have £100,000 of virtual money to invest in the stock market to try and earn as much profit as possible. They can invest in companies listed on Bloomberg and also in Exchange Traded Funds. They have until the end of January to make it into the top 500 UK teams in order to book themselves a place in the semi-finals. The finals take place in London and the top prize is a trip to New York and tour of Wall Street. Additionally the winning team will win £2,000 for their school and £200 for each team member.
